About Me Myself And I

Each day they travel through long hours of rehearsals, dozens of concerts and countless talks, looking for their own tune. And, as they’re quite courageous in exploring new musical landscapes – practically no stylistic constraints restrict their search.

During their accidental encounter in Wrocław in 2006, they discovered that they share one dream: a yearning for music pervaded with freedom , joy, harmony and courage of expression. They soon realized that this dream is their priority, and they decided to make it their lives’ aim.

Each of them carries a baggage of experiences that differs from the other’s, of inspirations coming from diverse cultural spheres and backgrounds. Their common denominator was human beatbox, vocal groove, which provided the draft of their mutual journey.

Me Myself and I is an attempt to unite in a single voice three different aspects of music: Melody, Harmony and Rhythm. In the band, each of these constitutive parts is represented by a different person,  and only being combined they make their ship’s crew complete for discovering the unknown. No instruments in music, no lines or chorus in songs. Only the human voice, the voice that moves and inspires.

Sailing through the seas that were rough and dangerous, but also through the beautiful and calm ones, they’ve had the luck and honour to partake in amazing encounters with people. With people that they taught on vocal workshops, those that they created music with, and those for whom they performed it.

They gave concerts accompanying, among others, Bobby McFerrin and Manu Chao; they played for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama; they took part on a TV show “Got Talent!” having sung themselves the final; and finally, there came the time for their first album TAKADUM!

TAKADUM! is their record-treasure. Their goal in a treasure-hunt. The effect of an incredible faith in incredible dreams to express the thing that really matters by means of music.

But this is not the end of their journey… It’s only the beginning.

HIGHLIGHTS IN THE BAND’s HISTORY:

In September and October 2006, Me Myself and I created the music for a series of TV commercials for Heyah mobile phone network.

In September 2007 MMI were invited to write a piece inspired by the soundtrack to the computer game “Wiedźmin” (The Witcher). In this way, one of the band’s best pieces was conceived – Sou Au.

In October 2007, “Takadum” was included on the Ram Café 2 medley, issued by Magnetic Records under the auspices of Radio Ram, and endorsed by Piotr Baryś.

On July 5, 2008, during the Warsaw Jazz Days, Me Myself and I performed as a support on the concert Bobby McFerrin Duets, in which Bobby McFerrin was accompanied by Leszek Możdżer and Anna Maria Jopek.

On July 13, 2008, on the City Square in Wrocław, Me Myself and I performed an entirely original soundtrack to Pomysłowy Dobromir. The concert was a part of theArtAnimAkcja Festival.

On July 15, 2008, Me Myself and I performed as a support for Manu Chao.

On December 9, 2008, Me Myself and I had the honour to precede with their concert the meeting of the Wrocław citizens with the 14th Dalai Lama.

At the beginning on June 2009, LUNA Music released the album +4871, a compilation of music pieces of Vratislavian bands. The author of the compilation is Natalia Grosiak. The record’s opening track is a special version of Me Myself and I’s “Takadum.”

In September 2009, in the studio of the Polish Radio in Katowice, Me Myself and I took part in a recording for "Iskierka", the foundation for children suffering from cancer. The record, on which it is the children who are the main performers, includes also Natalia Kukulska’s and Mika Urbaniak’s songs.

In September 2010, TVN television broadcasted the first episode of the new edition of "Got Talent", and Me Myself and I turned out to be one of the participants. They perform the song "Skibaraba". Having been assessed high by the jury, the band passes to the next round. In semi-finals they perform "Takadum". In the finals, they plan to sing their new composition "Elytom Encon". The production limitations force them to change their choice. As a result, they present a model interpretation of Frederic Chopin’s Mazurka in F major. Although they eventually end up on the 4th place, they are regarded by many, among others – by the jury member Kuba Wojewódzki, as the real winners of the competition.

On March 3, 2011, the band’s first album “TAKADUM!” is released.
